End the Stigma During Mental Illness Awareness Week

Posted by | Co-Occurring Disorders & Mental Health | October 07, 2015

Did you know that this week is Mental Illness Awareness Week? The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) marks the first full week of October each year as such to bring awareness to mental illness and mental health issues. NAMI works to provide support, advocate for equal care, educate the public about mental health, and fight the stigma attached to mental illness. While it is of course important to address the issue of mental illness yearround, this week allows for the community to come together and rally for support of the millions of Americans affected by mental health challenges.
