Although it may be easy to assume that your relationship is a healthy one, many individuals struggle with the issue of codependency, especially when they are also struggling with addiction. Here are a few clues that may help you to better understand if you are dealing with a codependency issue.

  1. Do you spend more time worrying about your partner than you do about yourself?
  2. Do you believe that it is your partner alone who makes you happy?
  3. Do you struggle with control issues in the relationship?
  4. Do you feel incomplete without your partner?


If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, there is a possibility that you may be struggling with codependency. You might want to consider seeking help from a profesional and letting go of that dependency.
