A study coming out of the University of Michigan has concluded that teens who have medical marijuana cards are 10x more likely to say they are addicted to marijuana than teens who obtain it illegally. The data followed over 4,000 high schoolers and took into account their marijuana use, whether it was legal or illegal, and how it related to other drug use. Lead author Carol Boyd has explained that she does not believe medical marijuana is creating this addiction trend; she feels that those who feel addicted or dependent upon the drug will actually seek out medical cards for legal use.
