Vloggers Changing the Dialogue on Mental Health

For years the mental health community has worked to open the dialogue surrounding mental illness and remove the stigmas so often associated with mental health challenges. More recently, various vloggers -video bloggers- with wide viewership have begun advocating for mental health initiatives. Young video bloggers Jackson and Finn Harries, Sarah Hawkinson, and Jonny Benjamin are highlighted by the Huffington Post as individuals making strides surrounding the dialogue on mental health. From personal experiences and documentaries to fighting stigmatizations from a psychological standpoint, these young people represent the future of the conversation surrounding mental illnesses. Their advocacy “gives hope to the millions of people around the world struggling with mental illness because it shows a new generation of young people who are not content with hiding illness in the closet.”
